I bought a 85 celica for my daughter's first car, I'am tring to get the ac working again. looks like the system has never been apart, i bought an retrofit kit at autozone. I'm pretty sure the system is bone dry. the compressor never would kick on, so i ran a hot wire to battery the and compressor works. the kit says the freon has compressor lube in it but i'm wondering if it will be enough, should i get a can of oil to? also should i replace the dyer before starting to charge it?

 

How are you going to recharge a r-12 system,has it been converted to 134a?
