I think they are both good saws, but my choice would Stihl be a Husky !
There's plenty of wood where you are heading, might want to reconsider.

I have no experience with husky saws so I cant say which I like better. However my Stihl 360pro has been great for me. I am currently using it to clear 10 acres of beetle kill on our property on the western slope here. It has never failed me or given me one lick of trouble.

A great site for chainsaws/arborist stuff is http://www.arboristsite.com/ scroll down to the equipment section and you will find a chainsaw forum. Those folks take their saw stuff like we take our trucks. A question posed there might yield the answer to your original question.

Wink

I have had several of Poulans, Huskies and Stihls..... (all PRO versions) None were really bad but Stihls seem to be made the best, the Husky and Stihl seemed to have the same cut rate at stock power levels....

I used both in my fire wood biz we cut 300+ cord a year and both ran real good, all the saws had 20" bars and to me with both having sharp chains the stihls seemed to run faster but the huskies had more torque. at the end of the day both seemed to cut the same amount of oak and spent the same amount of time it the saw shop

Whoa! This thread got some play!

Thanks for all the replies, advice and experienced voices. We , too have been happy with the Husky saws we have. A guy was bad mouthing them at the hardware store the other day and I just eavesdropped on the conversation. He was pretty tore up on why anyone would buy a Husky. I managed to keep my mouth shut for once and figured your opinions would weigh out better than his!

Thanks for all the replies.
