Century Link Prism TV/Internet

Anyone on here use them in the Vegas area - or other markets?

Getting it installed right now. We have a 30 day free trial so I will push it to it's limits so if we don't like it, we can cancel it free and clear.

I know the limits will be different than our cable internet (28 down/11 up), but we haven't had cable tv in over 5 years, so when CenturyLink came by last week, figured we would give them a try.

Curious on ya'lls thoughts....

Installed yesterday, cancelled today if that says anything.

TV is okay. Digital should be included...would probably look better. I had basic channels and it left a lot to be desired on a lot of channels. Local digital channels came through clearer on my home built antenna.

The Internet - I guess if you are still use to using dial-up it would be step up. If you are on cable broadband, run away fast. While the "up to" 10Mbps download speed wasn't the problem, if you do a lot of cloud based storage, the upload speeds were right on par with a 56K modem.

The internet was so bad, my son wasn't even able to do his homeschooling classes. Took me about an hour to upload the same document that would take about 2-3 minutes or less to upload.

The downside with CenturyLink Prism TV is that you are required to have either internet or phone or both (something i was not told when the sales guy came over). I wouldn't have minded keeping the TV if it wasn't required to have one of the other services - either that or they increase the upload speeds to at least 4-5Mbps and I would have stayed with them.

Oh well! It was nice having normal TV for a short period. Might check out satellite or cable TV now.

Hopefully this will help someone out who may be looking into other options for internet/TV.
