Cameras at intersections...Diobold TX

I was coming through Diobold Tx yesterday and accidentally went through a red light. I know, I know. Anyway, there was a 18 wheeler in front of me and he blew through the yellow and before I could see the light, it was red so I went on through instead locking up the brakes and throwing the whole family through the windshield. Anyway, I thought I saw what seemed like a flash as I went through the intersection. Do they use those cameras in Diobold and if so, do they take pictures from the front or back. There was something that looked like a camera on the top of the light post but it was facing me and since I don't have plates on the front I don't see how it could get my license #. Am I busted?

Houston has about 70 or 80 red light cameras. Don't know if they take the rear view of the vehicle. You might have got a free pass on that one. good luck.

We have them all over here. Along with they now have the ability to detect if you are speeding at the same time. But 98% are just red lights so far.
Oh yes the old double wammy, please don't ask I just know this for some unexplainable reason.

Oh and by the way the only ones i've seen so far take the picture from the rear. Actually not bad quality of shot either.

Typically the cameras facing you record your face for proof it was you, and the cameras snap the back for a license plate so they know where to mail your souvenier.

Be interesting to see if you get busted. If you were riding the semi's rear your picture from front is probably not visible so that may mean no ticket. If you were far enough back, youll probably get a ticket.

Who knows.. wait for the mail and see what happens!

Big Brother is watching you. And it's not a good thing. And it's only going to get much worse. Including covering areas of your life that you can't even imagine yet. Mark my words and check back in 5 or 10 years.

I am all for people obeying traffic laws to keep everyone safe.

However traffic cameras are just money makers for the municipalities/government. Typical for this day and age.

The cameras facing you are probably operated by TEEX. They monitor traffic and route emergency vehicles using the cameras facing you. It's the ones that get you from the rear that do the red light runner stuff. You'll also see a bright flash if you've been caught running a light. Your probably ok. Especially in Diobold Tx.

I hate those things ... not the ones at stoplights (cuz they are there for a good reason) but they have them in Germany to catch speeders... they take the front shot only to get your face and license plate. I was always getting "BLITZED" and wondering where the nuclear blast came from . Really bad when you aren't paying attention to the task at hand .

Kinda like playing the lottery ... you might get lucky ~~

I hated those cameras in Germany. Rumor has it that some young enlisted guys decided to salute the cameras using universal sign language.

You're probably right...Dibol, just south of Lufkin. We were coming up 59 from Houston. It was the first red light coming in by the college.

I ran a light pulling a b-train one time. a couple hours later I pulled into a rest stop and a car pulled in a couple mins later and said as I ran the red there was a big flash and the whole top of the trailers lit up, I guess I was lucky and was too long to get the front and back of the truck. Been about 2 years and I havent got anything in the mail.

Sioux Falls SD has red light cameras.
They snap a pic of car. The person it is registered to gets the ticket . .even if he can prove he was not & could not have been driving the vehicle at the time of the violation. If it is registered to you, you are considered responsible no matter who was driving at time.
I think those things are unconstitutional myself.
