I've read his posts about stick welding! Good to hear buddy, glad you're feeling better!
Have a good one!
Well, I'm here Red, if that matters
For a bit anyhow.
I've always loved the WJ's. That thing'll be nice with a 4 link set up under it. Put some solid axles underneath and it'll be set up pretty good.

I was asking Matt if he decided to move to Iowa.
Right now the jeeps got got the stock dana 30/35 combo with 3:55's. I have a D44 out of V8 Wj for the rear with the 3:73's. I also have a High Pinion 30 for the front waiting to be set up. It'll get WJ tubes and outers installed and I have to change it from 3:55 to 3:73. This way I can keep my bolt pattern and wheels, ABS and larger brakes than the 30 has. The 3:73 should bring evrything back close to stock when I put 265's under it. I have a HP44HD I could use and gain stronger hubs, but I'd lose my factory wheels, ABS, I'd have to narrow it a little and with the HD tubes, it might be getting a little heavy for the transfer case. With 265s I wouldn't need to be that beefy and I want to keep the select trac for commuting.

i`m getting that tranny beefed up before i install it - i droped it of to Sheldon today
- i did come up with the cause of reverse overdrive falure in most of our 42re trannys - the check valve between tranny & cooler - rubbers swell & stop oil flow that lubrecates the shaft on reverse & overdrive -thus causing falure.
was thinking the cause of your falure today might have started the day you had to go through the ditch to avoid the idiot !

More likely the 40,000+ miles a year I put on it driving ruff roads. If you get the right kit/parts, the 42re can be built about as strong as the 45/47.
