Yeah, sorry 'bout that. This is the day I put a little tin foil under the filter to slow the water down as it passes thru the grounds. I can get almost 5 days out of the same grounds this way, but I forgot to do it last night.

Speaking of tin foil under the filter, does anyone remember Table Talk Pie? Maybe it was a New England thing, but they had little miniature pies that came in a pie tin that would fit perfectly under a coffee filter. I've poked a couple holes in them and used them just for this purpose. I think they're out of business now tho. Tim may know.

Morning all.

Wednesday, May 8th.

1794 - The United States Post Office was established.

1846 - The first major battle of the Mexican War was fought. The battle occurred in Palo Alto, TX.

1847 - The rubber tire was patented by Robert W. Thompson.

1879 - George Selden applied for the first automobile patent.

1886 - Pharmacist Dr. John Styth Pemberton invented what would later be called "Coca-Cola."

1904 - U.S. Marines landed in Tangier to protect the Belgian legation.

1914 - The U.S. Congress passed a Joint Resolution that designated the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day.

1919 - The first transatlantic flight took-off by a navy seaplane.

1943 - The Germans suppressed a revolt by Polish Jews and destroyed the Warsaw Ghetto.

1945 - U.S. President Harry Truman announced that World War II had ended in Europe.

1958 - U.S. President Eisenhower ordered the National Guard out of Little Rock as Ernest Green became the first black to graduate from an Arkansas public school.

1970 - Construction workers broke up an anti-war protest on New York City's Wall Street.

1973 - Militant American Indians who had held the South Dakota hamlet of Wounded Knee for 10 weeks surrendered.

1986 - Reporters were told that 84,000 people had been evacuated from areas near the Chernobyl nuclear plant in Soviet Ukraine.

Today's thought:
Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open.

Marine Blend C0ffee & ph00 is the order of the day.

Guess they're still in business:

Established in 1924, Table Talk Pies is one of the most widely recognized and experienced pies bakers in the world today. Headquartered in Worcester, Massachusetts, our skilled bakers bake over 80 million snack pies a year, in addition to our wonderful 8” and 10” pies. Always a favorite of every New Englander, our pies are now distributed from coast to coast. Table Talk Pies can be found in your local grocery store, convenience store, vending machine or mass merchandiser.

Our mission has always been the same, to manufacture the highest quality baked pie in America. We start by using only the finest wholesome ingredients in the country to create our rich filling and flaky signature crust. Wild Blueberries from Maine, Washington and New York Apples, Georgia Peaches, Pumpkins from the Amish farmlands of Pennsylvania, Sweet Potatoes grown in the rich soils of North and South Carolina and Pecans from Texas and Louisiana. Our skilled bakers follow in the footsteps of the traditional pie craftsmen that founded our company over 80 years ago and masterfully create “America’s Favorite Pie”.

Table Talk Pies, big enough to fill your order, small enough to care!

Evening y'all!

Remind her that although see may see it as gadget issues it's actually the left and right sides working together in perfect unison to allow you to multi-task lake a pro, and, one day it will all end and you won't be able to listen to her and watch the tv at the same time.

Mornin.
Got the fire going, coffee and such is on. Wife's b-day today, but I stayed home yesterday and pampered her (I think), so today she's on her own...

Hope everyone has a good one, I'm about to get on the scooter and ride to work...

Mornin' Mark. Tell Angie Happy Birthday for me please!

Thursday, May 9th, (woke up thinking it was a Saturday).

1785 - Joseph Bramah patented the beer-pump handle. (I know this will mean something to some of you, but I have NO idea what a beer pump handle is.)

1926 - Americans Richard Byrd and Floyd Bennett became the first men to fly an airplane over the North Pole.

1936 - The first sheet of postage stamps of more than one variety went on sale in New York City.

1941 - The German submarine U-110 was captured at sea by Britain's Royal navy.

1962 - A laser beam was successfully bounced off Moon for the first time.

1974 - The House Judiciary Committee began formal hearings on the Nixon impeachment.

1980 - A Liberian freighter hit the Sunshine Skyway Bridge over Tampa Bay in Florida. 35 motorists were killed and a 1,400-foot section of the bridge collapsed.

1994 - Nelson Mandela was chosen to be South Africa's first black president.

1996 - In video testimony to a courtroom in Little Rock, AR, U.S. President Clinton insisted that he had nothing to do with a $300,000 loan in the criminal case against his former Whitewater partners.

Today's thought:
When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.

Good Morning Mark and Scott and fellow/fellowette DTRonians.
I had a dream today is Friday and I had a pick up at 7 but slept in. There where lots of calls from work on my cell phone.
As soon as I woke up I grabbed my phone amd checked. No calls. Whew! That felt strange.

The head is off the truck. Found several tell tale signs of coolant seepage on the deck and gasket.
Also found crystalline build up of what I learned from Lil Dog is the remnants of the burn off of the coolant on the edge of the pistons.
Rebuilt head with o-rings is on its way here. Injectors go out tomorrow.

I've done that before...

1785 - Joseph Bramah patented the beer-pump handle. (I know this will mean something to some of you, but I have NO idea what a beer pump handle is.)
Before CO2 (or air) was used to propel the beer through the lines, you had to manually pump the beer from the cask.

1926 - Americans Richard Byrd and Floyd Bennett became the first men to fly an airplane over the North Pole.
Who gave those rednecks a plane?

I don't remember making any phoo...

Knees and elbows are MY pain point. Had a Lyme's Disease vaccination years ago because I was in the woods for weeks at a time doing a LOT of logging. Figured it was good 'insurance'. Just about the time I started having problems with my kness they announced that the vaccine caused degenerative joint failure. Should have taken my chances with Lyme's!
