Black Boxes in 4X4s
Black Boxes in 4X4s
The National Transportation Saftey Board recently divulged that they had
covertly funded a project with the U.S. auto makers for the past five years,
whereby the auto makers were installing black boxes in 4-wheel-drive pickup
trucks in an effort to determine, in fatal accidents, the circumstances in
the last 15 seconds before the crash.
They were surprised to find in 45 of the 50 states the last words of drivers
in 61.2 percent of the fatal crashes were "Oh, ****!"
ONLY the states of Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Alabama and Texas were
different, where over 89.3 percent of the final words were: "Hold my Beer
and watch this!!"

I do not see who this benefits. Why are auto companies istalling these things, and why would the government really even care? Why would anybody care? The family of somebody killed in a drunk driving incident, sure. But somebody has to actually get a profit from these things, and has the power to put them in, or they wouldn't be there. A car would probably be a few hundred cheaper without one.
I don't agree with them, and they should be able to be removed at the owner's discretion. But I also just don't see why GM is installing them, or why the government really wants them. It just doesn't add up.
Unless its just something else that GM can charge an extra nickel for and make a slight profit.
Hahaha... Just kidding...
And you thought I had seriously missed the point...
