Biomass generators

Anybody here have any experience with fairly large biomass generators for generating electricity and hot water from garbage?
If not biomass, what then?

Do you mean burning the off gas (methane) or burning the mass??

How much power do you want to make?

Worked on starting up a 25 Mw biomass plant, burning scrap wood, bark, and sawdust from a lumber mill. The wood was pine, and spruce.

Just realized I made a mistake in the title. I should have said biomass boilers. Don't know exactly how much power I need yet as I have not yet finished running the numbers. We would like to burn garbage or similar, such as what is generated in chicken farms to be more than self sufficient for electricity and hot water. Very briefly, we need this for 500 houses and a small hospital.

Chicken "biomass" is going to be a tough burn, with the high moisture level. It would take some figuring to see if it would be worth while. The plant I worked in made 1500 psi superheated steam to feed to the turbine, along with 150 psi saturated steam sold to the lumber plant, for use in the kilns.

All my work has been on turbines that burn the off gas so I can not make any suggestions. Good luck with it.
