Gas Generators

Okay I have a question.
I was given a generator that is not putting out enough voltage. If I increase RPM will voltage increase too?

if not any ideas?

Thanks

Normaly----yes
remove enough stuff =air cleaner usually, to see the govenor adjustment nut on the linkage to the carburator. RIGHT TO TIGHT , usually results in increased RPM . use a good multi meter to SET the voltage to 115-120v AC.

Go fur it !!

nuff rain lately ? could use a break for lawn mowing !!!!

What Duelin said ^^

If it drops under load it may be the governor acting up - kinda depends on which manufacturer's motor is doing the work as to how the governor works.

That is why tractor pto generators are subject to under/over voltage - usually a tractor governor doesn't govern under transient load well enough to keep the voltage extremely stable - but good enough for most things like pump motors and fans.
