Bigfoot’s thought for the day

I woke up this morning and my knees are killing me, so while I’m hobbling my way though the day I go to Wal-Mart and see a woman with no legs riding in a wheel chair. That got me thinking.
My knees hurt but they were telling me that they where still there.
I could afford the Advil that I took so they would not hurt so badly.
I had to buy some RV antifreeze, Wow I own an RV and a house I’m blessed
I was able to drive my truck to Wal-Mart I own a truck when others have to depend on bus service or a friend.
I guess what I’m saying here is no matter what the politicians do and no matter what else happens I’m a lucky man so long as I can get out of bed and walk to the bathroom.
After all it’s the things that we don’t think about that make life worth living.
I truly hope that ya’lls day is as good as mine bad knees and all.

Appropriate thoughts as we approach the holidays...calming, and humbling.

Good thoughts.

I have a lot going on at work, things get depressing when it all piles up.

It's good to step back and look at what is really important.

I appreciate your post. I needed a reminder of how good I have it. Guess its time I started doing a little more for those less fortunate.

I agree with the original post and try to step back now and then to come down to reality.

It is almost like cutting a finger real bad and having it bandaged up.... you don't realize how much you need it until you can't use it. I do thank god and pray often to keep me and my family healthy.

As an old friend of mine often says

" things are never so bad that they couldn't be worse "

Now, this guy is 82 years old, I tend to think he has seen enough to have a decent benchmark behind that saying.

It really keeps things in perspective

This will be third straight year of not being home for the holidays and other celebrations my wife and I have. Her birthday, our wedding anniversary, and our oldest's birthday all fall in December ..... then there's Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

I felt like **** until I read this, so I wanted to say thanks because I really needed this today.

Vertical and breathing, everything else is gravy.

But, like my dad used to say "Gettin' old ain't for sissies"

I do NOT take my daily life and blessings for granted. Every day I give thanks to the Lord for His grace and mercy, for allowing me to live where I live (no need for antifreeze in my RV ) to have the health and strength to be able to do whatever I want to do, to have no need for any medication, to have the caring wife I have, to be able to help others and so much more.
Every week and sometimes daily I see people that are obviously suffering, missing limbs, in wheelchairs, dependent on others, no house, some are orphans and much more and my heart twists in pain for them and every time I count my blessings because I could be like them.

When I'm feeling down, I always remind myself that someone is much worse off than I am. Thanks for the reminder

Walking into Wal Mart today and an older gentleman looked at me and politely asked "How ya doing?"
I responded with "Just fine, how are you?"
His response was awesome, he said....

"I'm on THIS side of the grass, must be good"

So yea, no matter how most of us have it, it could be much worse.

Come to think of it... Anytime your feeling down just go to your local Wally World and find a seat. Before you know it you'll be laughing and feeling much better about yourself.
