Beware of camping on a river

http://www.nowpublic.com/environment...e-2627690.html

We go here quite often and this absolutely horrible. If anyone knows the area, this river can rise very quickly and when combined with the middle of the night...it gets bad quick. The sites are river level and then there are a bunch of primitive ones scattered along the river in the mountains.

My oldest son's math teacher is a victim so please keep the McMaster family in your prayers. Luckily the father and girls made it out ok...

Just got word that they ordered more body bags so the death count will probably climb.

So sad and tragic..... it pays to look at a detailed weather report daily when camping like that. I can see this one on my cell phone, paying attention could save your life!

http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/full_loop.php

With a map like this you can see for yourself if you are in a danger zone and plan accordingly. My cell phone also weather alerts to let me know of approaching storms, don't leave home with out it.

Prayers for the victims and families from here.

Unfortunately there isn't any cell service for miles up there. I wonder why the Rangers didn't evacuate the campground...I guess that it snuck up on everybody.

It does pay to check the news once a day. Prayers to all the people out there.

Sometimes the rescuers have to wait til it's safe to go before offering assistance. Can't help somebody from the bottom of a river, etc.
