best way to break in boots???
best way to break in boots???
i got me a new pair of redwings and i was wondering what everyone does to break in there boots. i myself i use mink oil, i apply it in the morning and at night for about 2-3 days, then wear them and i keep oiling them down for about a week after that, theyre usually well on there way to being broke in. what do yall do?
I take out the insole and fill mine with hot water for 10 minutes or so, dump it out put the insole back in and wear them all day. Works well for me. Plus it helps with boots that arent an exact fit,as if theyre a lil snug they stretch, or loose they will shrink a lil and form to my foot better

Same here, fill them with warm water, get them good and wet, wear them until they dry. Fit perfect everytime. Been doing it for years and no problems so far, well, wet socks sometimes

Put on a thick good-fitting pair of socks.
Put on the new boots.
Stick your feet, boots and all, in the horse-watering-trough, until the boots stand full of water.
Wear them, day and night, for a couple days, until good and dry.
DO NOT TAKE THEM OFF.Saturate completely with genuine NEETSFOOT OIL, the real stuff,
not that trendy horse magazine stuff.Wear for another 24 hours.
Now, those bargain-barn boots will fit and feel like Charlie Dunn made them special for you.
Also you can soak your socks in alcohol (no not the drinking kind) and waer them around for a day or 1/2 day. The thing is is will get the leather wet to fit to your feet and dry quicker than water will.
