Best semi-permanent pad/foundation for above ground pool?

got a 16x3 or so?

got it on a 10mil thick tarp, but need something semi permanent that I can weedeat around, or even ride the riding mower up on?

and how did you level it, if you put down a load of sand?

any & all input appreciated, even stupid ideas that ended up being wrong, to save me the effort.

I have seen some where the sand base was captured and held by those landscaping blocks that lock onto the one below it. The first one is set a little below ground and the second row locks on top and then the sand is leveled and the pool placed on top. Go about 2 feet larger on teh pool diameter if you go this route....

The sand just needs to be leveled by eye. The pool top needs to be leveled by use of a transit square. You can rent one at the local tool rental company. Pool side should be metal, so you can weed eat right up to it. This is assuming you are putting in a metal sided above ground pool. One more thing, get rid of the sand filter & get a DE filter. Also plump it with regulat PVC & throw away the flex hoses. Make sure pump is on an GFI protected circuit too.

Sand and foliage killer around pool, no weed eating.

it's an inflatable round pool, just a cheapie...
guy at work sold it for $50 so he could put in a $5k above ground

Intex 12' x 36" Round Pool

how would you level the sand, just nail two 2x4's together?

i like the pavers & the sand idea.

I just don't know if the wife & Gbabies will use it as much, once they start Pre-K, so hate to do a permanent install

they were in it EVERY day for a week when we put it up, now they ain't been in it in a week....

we had an inground at our last house...and it was used for a few years....then never used again. seems like things in life come in 'seasons'....and then they go away, or you lose interest, or something?
