best Duty Belt flashlight

Hey guys, I need a flashlight with a carrier/holster for my duty belt. The flashlights at work are not reliable. I want one with a push button on and off in the rear, and it must have a carrier that fits a standard duty belt, smaller is better. The prices on these things range from $50-250. I would like some real world advice on a good one so I can order online, the local LEO store is very expensive. Thanks guys.

Also what battery??? Heck some take all kinds of wierd batterys that cost a fortune, the rechanrgable ones get bad battery life reviews. I just need a bright long lasting dependable light. Rye.

I have two lights. An SL-20 and a Stinger LED HP. I carry the LED light regularly and use the SL-20 as a backup. You can see more here:

Best light I ever owned. Especially for traffic stops. The strobe function makes a huge difference in terms of blinding a violator. I've gotten more comments from violators on this light in a week then I did all of my others combined.

Thank you for your response but I need something in the compact range, say 6" max since it will be on my belt as I walk for a 12hr shift.

The Stinger LED isn't very big. Maybe 7 or 8 inches max. Are you looking for something that goes into a plastic mount instead of a ring? Something like an ASP holder?

I use a Surefire 6P. Very bright and compact. It's on my belt for 12hrs a day 7days a week. Along with all the other stuff I carry.

They make a LED conversion for it as well.

The holster I bought for it is a "Bianchi"

I'll have to second the Stinger LED. That is what I wear on my duty belt and I don't even notice it. It is not heavy and a bunch of us have compaired several of the lights with the Stinger LED coming out on top everytime...well it did lose once to the 5.11 Light For Life as far as charge time but that was it. Even the guy that had the Light For Life went out and bought a Stinger LED too.

I used to own a stinger and LOVED it, looking to get another because my last one was stolen.. I have the piggy back charger with it that charges the spare batt. as well as the flashlight at the same time.. Highly suggest it, as admit said only about 7-8" long..

streamlight survivor.. rechargeable , focus beam, nice and bright. I have a slightly older style, seems they make a lot of led options now.

I'd go with a streamlight too. they seem to have worked out the problems with the switches on the LED stingers and now they are pretty reliable. Stinger LED C4 is what i would get.

I was a Stinger fan too, but I was on the road before LED was popular. It was pretty good for checking house numbers without needing to fire up the vehicle spotlight. Lit up the inside of a car nicely.

Another vote for streamlight, i've beat the living heck out of my Stinger LED. Has never given me an issue.
