Do a search for the Food Network. The channel has a web site that lists all the recipes cooked on the shows.

Hey Alpine,
My fav southern recipe includes slices of fatback (bacon) for flavoring. After a meal with them included, you sit on the front porch and watch your serum cholesterol skyrocket and listen to natures sounds (not mother nature mind you, but nature none the less)
You might want to include "Boston Baked Beans" in your search arg. Boston Baked Beans recipe
Take care,
Nat

We're lazy I guess as anymore we just buy Bush's Original Beans. We typically use the beans as a dip with ruffle chips.

Throw some drained pork and beans in a crock pot or baking dish, cut up an onion or two and throw it in there, a pound of bacon also cut up, and pour in some KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce. Bake at around 350 degrees F for several hours.

Which might or might not do you any good if you don't have access to any or some of these ingredients.

Using my family heirloom heavy pottery bean pot, I'll start with a layer of pork & beans, then a layer of diced onions, then a layer of bacon, then a layer of brown sugar. Repeat until you (1.) run out of ingredients or (2.) come within 1"-2" of the top of the pot. Cover the pot, put into a 325 degree oven for about 2-3 hours (until the bacon is done or until you can't resist the aroma). Schedule an appointment with a cardiologist for stint insertions the following day.

Two 28oz +/- cans regular pork and beans
(Puncture tops and drain off liquid)
One large red (or purple or Bermuda) onion diced
One green bell pepper finely diced
Two teaspoons worcestershire sauce
One cup catsup
One pound cooked bacon cut into small bite size pieces
3/4 cup dark brown sugar

Mix up everything but the beans in a crock pot
Gently fold in the beans (you don't want BBQ refried beans)
You will be sure that there is way too much onion (trust me)
Set crock pot on low, when it starts to simmer stir ocassionally

Give it 4-5 hours

You will never eat canned baked beans again.

I follow the KISS principle: bacon and brown sugar.
