Bad ball joints in ALL Libertys

If you or someone you know owns a Liberty and you haven't had the ball joints replaced contact your dealership ASAP . There has been a recall and parts are backordered .

Yea I have replaced ,(and this is no joke) both uppers on my wifes twice in 40,000 miles. And the recall is for the lowers. We arent real happy with ours but dont want to sell and take a huge loss. We paid $19,000 in 04 , and have seen them sell for around $10,000 to $12,000 at most. Bad choice on our part.
Ohwell live and learn.

Just dropped off my '03 for the recall this morning.
This is the second time it's been in for a ball joint recall.
50¢ part, fours hours labor.

My wife bought her '06 Liberty in March . We'll have it for a while so I'm considering putting good Moog ball joints in at an independant shop rather than have the Chrysler dealer put in more inferior parts even though there would be no cost . We had the same experience with our '99 Durango and I had a reputable shop install Moog ball joints on it .

I have almost 60,000 miles on mine with no problems at all. Front end feels OK. Maybe I had better check it out!

I have a friend with an 06' Liberty. Couldn't take it any longer. His 4dr JK Rubicon is now on order.

All a matter of perspective I guess. with our '06 sport with approx 6000 miles we average about 22 mpg with mixed driving. Granted it's no VW TDI, but it's loads better than a big block 1 ton chevy!

Mileage isn't all that impressive . With diesel costing 30 cents a gallon more than gasoline you end up with less economy .

I asked about the diesel Liberty when I dropped my gasser off for the recall.
The service manager told me they've been coming back with endless oil leaks. He said that three people at their dealership gave up and turned them back in back under the Lemon Law.

We get about 23 around town and 26 on the highway.
Not to bad overall. The little lib does come in heavy at over 4k. Milage could be better but we gave up a little in milage for the power.

The only issues we have had have been EGR and glow plugs. It did take the dealer a couple of try and flashes to get it right. So far its been pretty good.
