Exclamation Bad Bad Wreck

I had a bad wreck last night. I was hauling cattle to the auction, fell asleep, jacknifed the trailer and fliped it 2 times. Nobody hurt, cows are ok and the trailer is being covered under my insurance. The truck is totalled, there is not a straight body panel on it. The engine tranny and rear end seem fine. The wrecking yard wants to onlly give me $750 dollars for the truck. I think it is worth more than that. Is that afair price or should i look elsewhere. I think I can get more out of it.

Glad your ok ..and you didnt loose any of your stock. I would think the 5spd would bring 750 by its self . Get that truck out of the impound if thats where it is they will suck you dry on fees... Drivetrain alone will bring i would think 2grand. If you dont want to mess with it get me some pics and i will come buy it.

Your lucky, I saw a wreck outside of Weatherford Friday; a 1/2 ton ran into the back of an 18 wheeler, the driver will not make that mistake again in this life. (or any other mistake)

i got pictures but i dont know how to post them. The truck landed on its wheels but the trailer landed on its side. The pin holding the ball in sheared and came loose. We picked it up today and took it to a junk yard here locally and he said he would give me 2500 for it. The engine started up fine and ran well. The trailer looks like its totalled. the goosneck is cracked, axles bent and the walls are pushed out. My uncle built this trailer around 20 years ago and it was probably 3 times heavier than your factory stock trailer. Thats what kept the calves alive, it acted like a roll cage. 2 calves escaped and have not been found but that will be covered by the insurance. Every one that stopped could not believe I walked away from this. There was definatly a higher power up there looking after me. I was just relieved to find out no one else was involved. The calves that got out I could have stopped but the people there made me sit down and not move. It was kinda funny watching these city slicker cops trying to round up some calves. They where about to go nuts when I climbed into the trailer to push em into the other trailer that came to pick em up. I guess i need to go truck shopping now. I think my wife and I are going to sell her xterra and buy a truck. We dont really need 2 vehicles with her staying home with the baby.
