Awesome Hunting Oppurtunity with Proceeds 100% to Charity!

AS some of you may know a couple of my very good friends are currently hunting and filming for Drury's Dream Season 4 Couples. They are from Houston and are representing this great state. Now as part of the show all of the teams do fund raising for charity which I think is a great idea. In talking with them they wanted to really do something that was great for charity as well as great for the hunting community.

So here is the deal. They are selling football squares with 100% of the proceedsgoing to Catch A Dream.

There are 100 squares total (10x10 board). The plan is to have it for the Thanksgiving Day Cowboys game versus Tampa Bay. Each square is $100 and it is first come first serve.

Now there are 2 ways to win.

1.) If you have the winning squares at half time you will win a fully guided Baffin Bay fishing trip for 2.

2.) If you have the winning squares for the final score you will win a fully guided deer hunt (bow, rifle, muzzleloader etc.) for a 130-150 B&C gross whitetail buck. The hunt will take place this year in December on a portion of a very large ranch on the gulf coast near Kingsville, TX. Now this is a "hunting" trip and not a "killing" trip although the odds should be very stacked in your favor. This hunt will also be filmed for the Drury outdoor crew and it should appear on the Drury show most likely during the Dream Season 4episodes.

Should the winner not be a deer hunter you can substitute the deer hunt for a fully guided 2 day quail hunt for 4 people.

Now, just to make things clear. I have ZERO interest in this other than these folks are good friends of mine and I always try to help my friends out when I can.

I also want to emphasize that 100% (that is all of it) of the money collected will be donated to Catch A Dream.

I would imagine that this hunt would be awesome as it should hit the rut. I will say that you will need to be ready to harvest the first mature deer in the 130-150 B&C class as well and you will not be able to be too picky. This is partially due to a pretty short hunt and partially due to filming it for TV. OF course who would be too picky on any 130-150 class buck? I just wanted to make sure I emphasize that so people understand what they are getting.

If you decide to make a check out for this it will be made directly to Catch A Dream. You will need to contact Mike McFerring at 713-705-8358 to get your place on the board. He is out of Houston.

I figured this was a pretty good chance at some great hunting and it is also for a good cause. If you have any questions I will answer them the best I can.

Is this a new "shot and release" program? I'm confused. "not a killing trip"...huh? I've read it ten times and I don't get it.

If it's not within the 130-150 b&c range you would not be allowed to kill. Therefore you are not guaranteed a "kill" only a good "hunt". That's how I read it anyway.

O. I guess I saw the comedy in it at first and the laughter over-rode my sense of understanding. I just couldn't quit thinking about a "shot and release" program! The PETA jerks would love that one!

Yeah, I probably could have worded it better. Basically it is not a 100% guaranteed kill. I can tell you from experience that you have a better chance at this place than anywhere else in TX that is low fenced. IT is awesome and I would be really, really suprised if the winner did not take home a very nice buck.

I also posted it on some hunting forums so I wanted to make sure these guys did not think it was walk out and pick one type hunting.

Also the Superbowl is not until Jan. but, they are doing it on the Thanksgiving day game so they can offer the hunt in December. The squares will sell very fast and they figured it had more value if the hunt could be done pretty immediately versus waiting until next year. It is more appealing to me personally that way.

So not it is not a shoot and release. You shoot and you get to keep it! Its ok we understand sometimes we need to reword things for our North of the Border friends!!!!!!
