ATV Mud Tires
ATV Mud Tires
I have a 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO Remington edition.
The factory Goodyear Tracker P tires are finally gettin wore out and Im lookin for some mud tires. The cheaper the better, but I really need something that will toss the deep mud. Anyone have any reccomendations?

x2 on the MudLites, I got 26x12x14, 26x10x14 mudlite xl's on my Kingquad, and they throw mud like crazy, and I've never got stuck with em, and we have some thick, nasty clay at our house. They arent the cheapest out there, but they aren't bad. I bought mine right when I bought my King as a package deal with ITP aluminum wheels, lugs and center caps for $750.
Maxxis 'Zillas are some of the best mudtires out there, they will get you thru absolutely anything, and not too badly priced, either.
Interco (super swamper) makes some real good atv tires as well, but are a little on the higher end price wise

I currently run ITP Mud Lite XTR radials and man they have been great!!! But $$$
So for the price I dont think you could go wrong with the Kenda Executioners or the Interco Swamp Witches. Fair warning I always suggest putting tire sealant in the tires from new. Helps alot.

If you want super cheap watch Nebraska tire. They often have grid-offs/blems.
ITP 589's are popular, as are Mudzilla's, but both will ride rough on hard surfaces. Mudlite XL is probably in the same catigory.
In a more intermediate tire, I really like Bighorn Radials. They wear like iron, ride and handle well, and are generally a big step up from factory tires when it comes to mud (but not at the performance level of a mud-specific tire). Some of the guys running in the jagged rocks around Arizona get 8k+ out of a set.
The Mudlite XTR radial would also be a nice choice for a good blend of hard surface/trail ride, and mud traction.
You've probably gathered by now I'm also budget minded, but IMHO the better ride of radials is worth the price.

i am running mudlights on my king quad. not as aggressive as the supper swamper vampires that had on my last bike but they work very well in the mud and not to hard on your bike.

Have em on my 07 Rincon. Great tire.
They pull pretty dang good too. Rog and I have a pretty good tendency of sticking our bikes where most wouldnt.
Excellent trail manners also. We do some forest riding around Alexandria, LA. They grip good on the hardpack and you can really throw into corners and they dig in and grip without sliding everywhere.

I hade mudlite XTRs on both mine and my wifes Grizlys and loved them. One set I had around 5000 miles on them when I traded the machine a couple weeks ago. They where still probobly75-80% tread. The stockers where lucky to make it to a tad over 2000 miles before they where bald. I loved the XTRs in the mud and snow. I am a little disapointed I let the tires go with the machine. I would have loved to see how many miles I coulda got out of them. It was a hard desion to make spending $100+ per tire on teh first set but after that we were sold. Unless you ride lots of paved roads or keep the ATV for 20 years they will probobly out last the machine.
