I live in Texas. I have been with Farmers insurance for years.<br> Now they have threatened to pull out of Texas home insurance market. I decided to shop around and the pickings are few for new homeowner/auto policies here.<br> I got a quote with Allstate and am happy with the price they quoted me. I can't find anyone I know personally who uses them.<br> I was hoping to here from someone who has their policy with Allstate or had a policy with them at one time and see if they were satisfied with their experience with them.<br> Thanks Randy

 

Randy, <br> I live West Virginia and I have Allstate on my vehicles and Home. They have treated me well for 9 years now, before them I had State Farm. Also very good to me, I only switched because of the difference in cost for the same coverage.<br> I had a tree break in a heavy storm and a rather large branch landed in the middle of my boat, destroying the winter cover and the frame that holds it up. I was just out of surgery and had to pay somebody to come build a temporary frame of 2x4's and cover it in tarps.<br> I contacted the local top maufacturer and he quoted me his standard price for a cover, after I explained my medical condition and that I needed a certain type of frame work that allowed me better access like the one I lost his price went up 500 dollars.<br> I contacted Allstate about my loss and within 2 days heard directly from the claims manager for my area, he was sending me out a check for the cost of a top quoted him by my local top maker. It was the same as the original quote I received. After I briefly explained the cost difference for the top I required and the cost of having to pay someone to cover it temporarily, he then cut me a check for the full amount. No argument what so ever.<br> Every contact I have had with my agent has been good and I have never felt slighted by them. I hope this helps to give you the bit of insight that you are looking for. Just because my experience has been good it certainly does not guarantee yours will, but I would go back to them without question if I were looking again.

 

I had allstate for about 6 years. I had good service with them.... however, I received a lower quote from state farm so I made the switch... sounds like Top swiped my good Allstate coverage and vise versa! ;D<br><br>Tony

 

forget allstate... always hated them.. <br><br>use to have them.. my brother got in one accident and then he was hit by someone like 6 months later. they cancelled him off of the insurance.. they said he was a libility to have on the policy... down with allstate... <br>when u think they are going to help you they leave u in the dark.. <br><br>I have used Metlife they were very good.. had my car broken into.. only cost me $100 ded for vandalism... they replaced the rear window and buffed out all the scratches in the back.. <br>total bill came to $978.00.. they did not bat an eye...<br><br>I currently use American Express... due to rate drops.. i pay $1867 a year for 03 Dodge, 00 Xterra, 67 Nova... <br><br>u heard it here first.. stay away from Allstate...

 

Randy<br>I live in Houston and use Allstate for my comercial truck insurance, (USAA for everything else) I recently was involved in an accident. They treated me well with no hassel. Provided a rental truck also. I don't know how they might treat the next one. My agent is a good one.<br>L.D.

 

I have been with Allstate for 22 years, cars and home. I allways give the competators a chance to beat there prices but so far not one has even come close. 8)

 

Thanks for the replies. Here in Texas it is slim pickens for new homeowners insurance right now. <br> State Farm and Farmers I think are the two largest insurers in Texas. State Farm is not accepting any new home owners polices and Farmers has threatened to leave the state and not write anymore homeowners polices. Farmer's has delayed their exit till December 10th temporarily, and naturally my home owners and cars are up on Dec 20th.<br> It is at least a reassuring to hear from someone that has used Allstate and was satisfied. <br> Ain't the internet a great thing for getting a quick and useful answer to a question.<br> Thanks again Randy

 

I use Allstate also, homeowners and car always been treated like a king. Reasonable rates.

 

Ive had Allstate on 2 houses and 6 cars they give petty good pakage deal for house and cars and are ez to deal with most times the rates are lower then other insurance companys,and the safe driver and and other discounts help.

 

Had Allstate for home,car,boat and motorcycles coverage for many years. No claims. Truck stolen, recovered and the fixed about $1800 damage. Cancelled me in a heartbeat. I went with AAA and have had no problems.<br><br>Allstate...Your in good hands----and bent over!!!<br><br> JJ
