Anyone Have A Wrecking Yard Handy????

I haven't had any luck finding another plactic, passenger side, seat trim around here. Anyone know where I might find one?

Thanks,
CR

Hey Charlie,
My best friend works the parts counter at a wrecking yard...thats why the 1st gen's interior looks as good as it does. I only work one day this week so I will try to get down there and see what I can find.

By the way, we missed you at the last meet. I heard rumors about where you where and what you were supposed to be doing.....but we won't get into that.

Do you have the piece? You can patch it back in (with crazyglue, clear CA) and use a USED dryer sheet on the back side (works like FLOX). If your careful with the glue you can keep it clean on the front you'll never see it. If you have some of the gray interior paint that would mask it even better.

Thanks for the reply.
I have tried gluing it back several times. I haven't tried the used dryer sheet, but will try it if I can't find a replacement.

pistol, i'd assume it's like a flex sheet of fiberglass. once the glue is on it, mold it to the right shape and let it harden.... should help make the gap stronger.

my neighbor owns a slavage yard, i'll stop by and see if he has any handy.

BINGO! It has to be used to get the smelly, grease, foofoo crap out or it won't stick so well. You can do the same thing with a peice of any fabric. The dryer sheets are usually handy (less'en you hang your cloths), thinner, and easier to work.

Actually when my wife and I where dating her dog got in a fight and was bleeding like a stuck pig from his ear. It was just a nip but the bolod would not stop. He was a very hyper (SP) dog and actually began to get VERYVERY mellow due to blood loss. I tried some glue by it self and he would shake his head it split open. So I had her cut a peice off and old shirt she was using for a rag and I patched that on there. It was about 1"x2" and wrapped around the edge of his ear. The other dogs may have laughed at his but it finally wore off after a couple of weeks,

Also, FLOX is chopped fiber glass strands mixed in epoxy. It is used to build fillets around structural members and such.

I just got back from meeting Cody for lunch and picking up the kick panel/cover for my seat. A little Armour All and about 5 minutes and it looks good as new!

Thanks again Cody!
