The shredding I was referring to was more for cutting grass and small brush. Those are either ones you drag behind the tractor or attach to the 3point hook up. I was thinking with a small tractor and 3pt shredder you could handle some pastures, large lots and fencelines things like that. People around here are buying 5-10 acres clearing around the perimeter fence a homesite and cut trails through the brush. The small tractor and shredder is perfect for maintaining that once the grass grows back.
The shredder on the skid steer is fine for small trees but I wouldn't have you use it on youpons. You can't get the roots unless you plan on running the blades into the ground 6-10 inches. I just finished a job that about 2 years ago they had 5 acres of youpons cleared like this, the youpons are about 2 ft tall and thicker than ever now.
Your truck would handle the dozer but the drw would be better, 12k dozer + 7-8K trailer = 20K + truck, fuel, tools, etc. Tractor, shredder and gooseneck lowboy trailer no problem for a srw. Sorry for the long post, Bruce.

I have a small 30hp tractor. Good for some brush hog work.

And you think clearning youpon is a bad idea with the shredder I had posted above... I kinda liked that thing, but if it won't work I won't look into it.

I plant food plots and do some bushhog work for some local hunting clubs

Speaking of chemical flash-backs what will get rid of Kudzoo but not sterilize the dirt?

I think spike would kill youpon right along with the trees that the youpons grow under. Growing up in the country I had to laugh when I was doing pest control in the Woodlands and saw people planting youpons in their flower beds. Big fancy houses and they plant that junk around them.

Spike is very unforgiving. Its an equal opportunity killer.
