Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone here does work on emergency vehicles. More specifically, I'm looking for someone that knows how to install K9 transport units.

 

Jack, did you decide on a particular unit? Last I knew you were maybe thinking a custom job if I remember correctly.

Whatever you end up with, I'm sure Jonah will be a happy camper. I can see it now... own climate controls, kong dispenser, and big cuddly bed.

Just kidding, but have you contacted your local Departments to see what is working for them?

Jack, I spent a little time searching the net for transport ideas. Most everything I found is designed for either SUV or Crown Vics. I mentioned one other time about the dog boxes hunters use. I don't know which way you decided to go, but I did find several makers that would custom make your design.

Not having dealt with full time K9 transport, I wish I could offer more.

Thanks for the info. guys. I have been looking for quite some time, and cannot find anything I'm happy with. I'm almost tempted to go buy me a tahoe then leave it at Ray Allen for a couple weeks. The only thing is that I probably don't have that kind of money laying around. I'm sure for a new Tahoe, we're looking at 45-50k once all the gear is installed. I can't seem to find any used police cars that don't have the K9 units gutted out of them.
