Anybody escaping the Hurricane?

Just wondering if anyone has friends or family (or themselves) and are fleeing the gulf coast? I want to be praying for all these, I wish there was something more I could do. Hang on through this storm everyone! It's looking to get pretty wild.

Picked up my wife's grandmother in Orange, Texas last night. Ford Park in Beaumont was already full of transport buses and military vehicles. Left Orange at 7 PM, took 5 hours to make Baytown and another 4 hours to make Austin. Stuck with I-10 and US 290. Long but uneventful trip, glad I had A/C and a full diesel tank!

Staying here in Houston, at home, zip 77095 near TX hwy 6 and 290. So far nice here, sun shine and in the 80s
Link to local TV station. Go to hurricane center link and the tracking and computer model show where storm is, and the guesses where it is going.

I am in Columbia MS and the winds are gusting 30 to 50 mph right now. We are not getting alot of rain yet, still got power to. We are going nowhere and if it is not raining to hard we are going dove hunting in a little while, the doves will be flying well. We have alot of people up from LA and most of the gas stations are out of fuel, but thats ok my tank is full and also have 100 gallons on standby. Hope everyone gets back home safely.

I live in Marrero, LA...just a few miles from New Orleans. Things turned out much better than they could be. I took lots of pictures and many mental pictures as well of my house before walking out the door. I really thought it was the last time I would see any of it.

We are in Hattiesburg, MS at some friend's house waiting it out.

Although it looks good, it ain't over yet...

They'll be alright. They live down there because they like the hurricanes. They get em every year, some worse than others.

I'm sure anyone in their right mind would move if they didn't like the hurricanes.
