any orthodontist out there

My daughter just had a herpst appliance taken off and the next plan of action is to put braces on her. Her teeth are very straight so she did not need braces before the herpst. Is it always necessary to have braces put on after the herpst has pulled the jaw forward? Her teeth still look very straight. It seems to me all they want to do is put braces on every kid that comes through the door. Anyone have any idea?

they pretty much do, if you ever have to go to an orthodontist count on getting braces. I got mine off about 2 and a half years ago, but I have retainers now. They said I had to keep em till my wisdom teeth came in but I told em that I had em cut out last Thanksgiving, I mean they should know becuase they're the ones that told me I needed it done. It's pretty much up to your own discretion whether or not she needs braces. They're not required by law, so it's your choice. Me personally, I'd rather spend $5000 on something other than a hard time.

Personally loved the bloody lips every other day.... Maybe I was too rough.

I had questions to about my braces however I was to young to make any sense to my parents. $3000 later my teeth look about the same.... Seems liek that money was well spent.... I knew I had straight teeth but for some reason someone that wanted to make money off me didnt.....

i would wait a few months,

get the doc to do an "impression" of the teeth in the plaster stuff.

then every few months, compare her teeth to that impression,

if they are wandering around, put the braces on.

otherwise, keep your $$ in your pocket.

a good TeethDoc would probablly just put that little wire on the back of the teeth to hold them steady.

our kids first Teeth doc put on braces, then the wire.

we moved,

and the next idiot took them off.

2 years later, he charged us $3000 to put braces on because they had MOVED.

duh..

dentists & doctors are just like mechanics: some are good, some are bad...and they all have bills to pay.....
