Any one use a Satellite Locator on their RV?

My grandpa is starting to have some trouble finding satellites when they are traveling all over. I was thinking about buying him something to locate them easier. Anyone have any experience with these, or even know what they are called so I can do some more research?

HERE are 2. I have no experience with the more expensive one, but I've had the $29.99 Winegard satellite finder (aka "bird finder") for years. It works as advertised, but one has to be close to the satellite desired as it will find the DishTV satellites just as easily as the DirecTV satellites - in other words, one can lock onto the wrong bird and have to go back through the routine all over again.
