Any hydraulics specialists on board?

Hi folks!

A friend of mine has a trenching business with a vermeer track trenching machine. now the main hydraulics pump is shot, and he would need a pump .

Over here the pump "can not be repaired" or would take too long to get repaired..
There is only one plate on the smaller pump that says :
Rexroth
Serial No: G2101514
AA4V125 EL 1L 3G 201 5.94
0/12 V
5453-001-080 CCW
This pump works fine, but the main pump (no plate but assuming AAV4V250 is shot.
So any hydraulics or vermeer gurus please holler!

not a vermeer guru but the main pump is what powers the drives and the minor pump is probably used to power minor items.the outflo from the main pump is way more then the smaller one. we've had pumps go out and have taken them to places that work on hydraulics and have been able to cross refrence parts from other pumps to fix them. their is a vermeer dealer about 60 miles from here if i can help let me know

We have found that most of the time the cost difference between a rebuilt pump, and a new unit, is not worth the effort, But search out a large hydraulic house, and take it there, before you take the hit from the dealer, lots of times they can find you the same pump for less, or even rebuild it if it turns out to be of savings. Even at that a reasonable dealer should be able to tell you what pump you have, then go shopping.

I'll try to get the serial number of the machine too- the problem with hydraulic experts over here is that they don't have parts for these pumps.
Even a vermeer dealer price would be ok, the machine now stands in the middle of a highway construction and loses massive amounts of cash per day.
He would need the pump to be shipped to Austria, and he can return the old one for a core. Payment for the pump and the shipping-He'd prefer ebay and paypal (buyers and sellers protection) but is open for any other viable and secure form of payment.

Thanks!

rexroth is very close in construction to sundstrand, and several other brands. They are used in smaller construction equipment to keep costs down for the end user.

Saying that, you might want to see if you can find another brand of pump with the same specs and physical size, that will bolt in, and be readily available.

Also, your small pump is generally a charge pump for the hydrostatics/hydraulics, you might want to make sure that it is making pressure.

I'd look for a compareable Parker unit (because many are made in Michigan and are good quality), but found this for you. http://www.woosterhydrostatics.com/inventory.htm

Thanks for the hints, I think it would not be practical to try to mod the machine to accept a different pump because it's out in the brush right now and the transport would be extremely expensive.
I'll try to contact Wooster for pricing info.
The feed pump has been overhauled, it was the reason for the main pump going out. (Oil starvation)
