General Grabber AT2

I am looking at putting tires on the wifes truck, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these tires? Her rig is a 2002 PSD Excursion 4x4. Do they wear fast, and do they hold up well? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They held up well on our old F150. I think they averaged about 45K miles.

With the weight of an Excursion I don't think they'll last nearly that long.

Put load range E on it. Rotate every 5-7000 miles and watch air pressure. I've got 20K on mine and have 2/3 tread left.
Go for it.

I have the Grabbers on my 01 (Cummins) and they are wearing fast - I would try something else.

I have Cooper S/T's on my other truck and they are wearing nicely. You should also look at Toyos.

Thanks Doc. I just priced the coopers and they are about $120 more out the door so thats not bad. I think I will go with them. I prefer BFG's but her rig isnt in the dirt enough to justify the price. Thanks for the help.

I hope they wear well for her.

Also, I would recommend tire balancing beads instead of the convention hammer on/stick on weights. Ive been running balancing beads for a few years. They are cheap, work great, and save on balancing costs:

If you go this route, fill the tires with nitrogen and the beads can clump if theres a lot of moisture in the air.

Thanks to Infidel for another one of his great tips.
