That's incredible. He looks like a pretty young deer in the trail camera photo. The biggest deer I've seen on the hoof ended up scoring 168 something (guy shot it out of my stand a few years ago!), that new deer puts it to shame though. Any idea what some of the tine lengths are?

He looks kinda skinney..........probably from carrying all that weight on his head.

They should have captured that guy and spread his DNA around.

Here are two of the deer I killed with my bow last week, and a doe I shot with the .45-70 Thursday evening. The one pic is from my bow stand, I shot it in the spine and dropped it at 6 yards.

i always thought that too but found out recently alotta guys dont do it that way. alotta guy will drag it far from their stand to a field or something, some guys wait til they hang the deer up and do it all at once.

i gut mine where ever it falls, open it up and get all organs out that way there is less mass to hold the heat, lighter to drag, and lets cool air inside the cavity and cool the meat

A lot of times field dress em right where they dropped asap. I just think its the best way. Get all that stuff outta there like GB5.9 said. I think its the safest and most cleanly. Then we usually either bring em up here to the house or take them to the barn and spray the chest cavity out to remove all the blood. Then we hang em up in the barn and skin em. If its cool outside and we dont have time to skin them right away, then we'll leave em hangin with a couple bags of ice stuck down in their chest cavity until we have time to skin em, but we usually try to get them skinned and on ice within 36 hours.

Here's some more deer pics. Thank God our rifle season is over, I'm wore out. My phone actually takes some decent pics. Check out the one pic through my scope, I had turned on my illuminated crosshairs and it came out in the photo. Pretty cool. (I didn't shoot any of the little 50 lb rats in the pics, waited for the bigger deer later on)

Well, you asked, her you go!........
Sperry, Iowa 2006, buck grossed 235, and neted 223 typical!!

Smaller buck {cant believe you would use smaller as a word to discribe him! } scored a 201........

And you all wonder why Iowa charges so much for out of staters to hunt here!!lol

I took this picture of Shovelhead in his deer stand....He never did get a deer this year, but he said at times he thought they were so close, he could almost smell them
