I'd have to agree with that statement....although I don't even know him well enough to say he is a great guy. I do enjoy his singing though....for the most part.

Great post, FastZilla!!
You and I are alot alike. I also spent my younger years in the military, the Army to be exact. I am proud of my time served and it definitely made me a better person. I am also a self-made man, using the money earned in the military to put myself through college, and have never taken one cent in entitlements. I now have an MBA, and earn a very comfortable living. It makes me sick to hear all the whiners who want something for nothing. I have no problem telling anyone to just shut their piehole. Too many lazy bums in this country and liberals trying to tell us how to live. Give me a break.

3 guys standing at the pearly gates, Asian, French and American.
St Peter asks the Asian what good deed will he do while in heaven.
He replies: Feed Asia's hungry children.
St Peter laughs and says they've been trying for years but a fresh perspective is always welcome and lets him in.
St Peter asks the Frenchman what will he do in heaven.
He goes on for an hour about how great France is and how it is a shame that the world is not more like France.
St Peter interrupts him and asks again what great deed will he do in heaven.
The Frenchman says he will build a 1000 ft high inpregnable wall around France to preserve their superior culture.
St Peter laughs and allows the Frenchman to proceed - figuring it will at least keep them isolated which is more good than not.
The American comes up, now standing alone is asked.
He quickly asks St Peter if that wall around France will truly be inpregnable - no one can get in or out.
St Peter replies - yes, completely impregnable.
American replies "Fill it with water"...

This falls under the beg for forgiveness vs ask for permission (off topic, sort-of).

America is no more divided and antagonistic now than it was ever before. Politics are probably more friendly now than ever before, too. I live in California, so I haven't been the target of any advertising dollars this election, but politics in the past have been WAY worse than they are now. Even with our founding fathers- we didn't have none of this P.C. B.S. around back then... Those campaigns got nasty. I, for one, wish politics would loose this P.C. cloak. What's with not being able to mention your opponent by name? Screw that...

FastZilla, I too think we need a total change of foreign policy. We need to put America's intrest above all else and stop worrying about the rest of the world... I mean, who outlawed empire building? America can make herself so much better if we only lost these stupid "modern and civilized" restrictions... Look at Mexico. We need to annex the top Northern 100 miles of Mexico, divide it into states, Americanize their citizens and exile anyone who refuses to learn English. We would gain resources, help illegal immigration and have more land. Why don't we? Because we're letting toilet-hole country's like Mexico bully us around diplomatically. Screw it. We need to annex Malta or something just to make a point that we are a country for ourselves, not others. Weenie liberals want to make America everybody's friend but ourselves.

I can't get through it without tearing up-
When I left Iraq this August, we were all waiting for our plane to get us to Qatar. A lady came up and said that she had to ask if anyone had any problem getting on the plane that was carrying a KIA. No one did and we got on just in time for another mortar and rocket attack. Hit the runway not us thank God.
Anyway- as I sat there looking at the metal box the fallen soldier was in, I couldn't help but think how lucky we all were to be coming home unharmed and the fact that I knew he was killed before his family did. I'll never forget it either. He was an Army troop and his name was Robert Wagner.

so, think what you will about America-
Remember it's the greatest country on the planet because of guy's like Robert!

I can't agree more. I sincerely thank people like Robert and the thousands more that went before him to make America the free country that it is today. That freedom that America has, in turn, gives me the freedom and prosperity I have today.
However, my second point seems to have been missed. That freedom you so rightly cherish, the great country you live in today, could tomorrow be history unless action is taken NOW to stop the slide that is presently happening. Take a good, hard, honest look at what your country was and what it stood for about 50 years ago and earlier. Now take a look at what it has degenerated to. Now guys, don't flame me. I challenge you to stand back and take an honest look at what is happening in your country. Is this what you want for your kids? And your grandkids?
Then as I have harped on so often, there is the enemy within that is waiting its chance to take over your country. This is no joke and I am willing to make myself unpopular here to make this obvious to those of you with rose colored glasses. At this point politically, I think that you have a chance to make positive changes and get rid of some of those self serving politicians and others that are sending you down the creek without a paddle. Miss this chance, and you may never get it back again. That my friends is scary!
Ask not what your country can do for you, but what YOU can do for your country.

I served under the Billary Clinton regime ... pretty painful as I recall. Kinda hard to have a lot of respect for your Commander-In-Chief when he isn't seeing to it that you have enough funding and training to do your mission.

I am glad that President Bush will be my President for 4 more years. I love working for the man ... he has a backbone !!!

Ted Nugent for V.P. !!!!!!!

I spent several of my $400 pay checks in Radioo Shack and Delta Electronics buying componants for F/A 18s, C130s, CH 53Es and various other GSE. Funny part is the store bought parts had tolerances of +/- 5% sometimes 10% - those aircraft are rated for 20% - blew lots of componants becuase they can't ahndle the E & I fluctuations... Just funny tid bits. Under Clinton they closed our chow hall and we were all eating MREs - in most cases better than Navy shore food

All and all I enjoyed it but watching one after another aircraft become a hangar queen was not what I singed up for. I'm glad Bush is still in - Now I know my brothers in arms will eat hot meals and have parts when needed - working tools are a bonus too. Under Clinton I definately learned how to adapt and over come... He was my comander and chief so I didn't gripe - I'm just making comparisons now

I escaped the Billary era of the military, but I did do 20 with most of it looked down on by the public.

There was no way I could vote for Kerry because for over 25 years he did not support the military as he should have. He complained how the military was trained and how they conducted themselves but he always voted against funding to build them correctly. How could anyone then buy into his lines that he would make a better C in C than Bush. A leopard cannot change its spots and after 25 years a Kerry won't either.

Don't wish to hurt Canada but maybe we can use it as a springboard to get a bunch of our problems to France.

As far as MexStan says, yes, we have a major element trying to subvert this country and unfortunately it has infiltrated the schools so that the kids are becoming indoctrinated. Lesson learned from Hitler and his Youth Corps, start em while they are young and impressionable.
