Could use a little help, Buddy has a 99 F-450 with a V10. It has developed a ticking noise. Engine only makes it above a itle, not under a load like a rod would. The valve cover on the drivers side was pulled to make sure it wasn't a loose rocker. Yes I know this is a Diesel site, I'm looking for a gasser site or someone who has been in the V 10. We had the same problem with the ford V-10. Took it to the dealership and they said it was normal. Of course thats normal of a dealer. I'm cant fully remember what it was. If i think of it i will let you know.

 

tell him to run higher octane gas, once the ticking goes away...sell it
