I used to work with a few lazy bums that dipped. I say they were lazy bums becuase they got to where they'd bum a dip off this one guy named Fred. They bummed so much, Fred starting bringing two cans every day. He finallaly wised up and fix the situation.

One day ole Fred went to lunch with us. Right before he ordered, he put his dip back into the can. He orderd, sat down and ate. The others stood outside by the dumpster yaking.

A year ago last May. Quitting dipping was harder than quitting smoking. The first thing I realized after many failed attempts was that I had to want to quit.

I used the Commit lozenges, 4 mg to start and after 2-3 weeks I went to the 2 mg for 2-3 weeks. After you get the chemical addiction under control, you need to find something to replace the physical addiction. I chew Eclipse sugar free mints. (not too many, they give you bad gas if chewed in excess )

Just take it one day at a time and remember, just because you cheat once or twice doesn't mean you can't continue quitting. I cheated twice and got green sick both times. My wife just laughed and made fun of me. Thanks hon.

My dad quit chewin by chewin gum.

After a year he said he was chewin to much gum so he went to tooth picks.

He said he went from about 7 dollars a day to 2.50 dollars a day and now he can buy like 5000 tooth picks for a dollar.

He said he could probably live with a dollar a year over 7 dollars a day.

Right now I'm 6 months into kicking a two can a day copenhagen snuff habit. I started to quit by eating lots of mints, but then had to go to the dentist to get two cavities taken care of! That really sucked, lemme tell ya. Now I eat alot of sugar free trident, but almost a pack of that a day!

I never chewed but smoked since I was 15 and at age 51 had a heart attack, and quad by-pass haven't touched one in almost 5 1/2 years, they still smell good but I had to learn the hard way. Good luck to all who are quitting.
