72 hrs and counting

Well it was monday 5:30 pm I spitt out my last dip of copenhagen. I can't believe how easy its been so far. A couple bags of sunflower seeds, and a few dozen tooth picks, but not near the craving as previous atempts to quit .
So to my fellow quitters what helped you kick the habbit, do you still think about it, and how long as it been?

Quit for almost 9 years now. Best advice I can give is don't ever have another dip. What always caused me to fall off the wagon before I quit for good was saying "I'll just get a can for this hunting trip" or "I'll just have a dip when I'm out with the guys". That always turned into being right back in the habit.

Good for you!! And Good Luck too!!

I don't know how much you chewed, but you will soon notice it in your wallet too. Definately an added bonus!

Hang in there, the benefits of being tabacco free are worth it. I haven't smoked in almost 5 years now.

The first two weeks are killer, after that it's just a matter of telling yourself NO.

Took me 3 tries over 2 years to finally quit for good. I ended up using the patch.

Good job man and keep it up!! I haven't chewed for almost 7 years....never looked back either, just wasn't worth it to me.

Keep up the will power and don't give in no matter what......if sunflower seeds work then chew the crap outta them!!! I wish you luck man, keep us posted on how you're doing.

If I don't feel like dipping I just grab a toothpick and leave it in the corner of my mouth.

Yah, tooth picks work wonders till it nothing but splinters. Don't figure I'll save any money, as now when I get a craving I find something to eat, if mouth is raw from sunflower seeds and tooth pick is destroyed. I used a can evey 3-4 days and smoked a couple of the wifes cigarettes now and then.

A friend of mine went to the patch and had good results. Yes, he chewed, not smoked.

I quit dipping about 6 months ago. I got this stuff called "Bac - off " it is all natural tea but it really does taste like Skoal. Although i dipped Copenhagen for 22 years This helped me ALOT !! It was designed by some doctor to eleviate the need to have the tobacco in your mouth. It worked really well.

Never dipped but smoked since I was 14 (47 now). I quit before for 7 years but thought I could smoke a cigar once and a while, which turned into smoking cigars at work cause I had to get out and take a break with everyone else. Then I quit kidding myself and figured cigarettes have to be better than cigars cause I inhaled from day 1. Quitting this last time was tough. It's been 376 days and not one cigarette. It was cold turkey with the help of these lozenger (sp?) things. It has ended up saving me about $150 a month because I was a 2+ pack a day smoker.

My hat off to everyone who has quit tobacco whether it is chewing or smoking. I also hope everyone who is attempting, the utmost success. Don't give into the cravings and don't look back and good luck.

My dad quit smoking about 2 weeks ago. He smoked over 25 years, pack to two packs a day. He went to a place called laser solutions and got shot with lasers .

He said it's getting easier by the day, just keeps sunflower seeds close at all times LOL. He did say that he is breathing better already, and his taste and smell are totally different.

Now I just have to quit .
