7 DeWalt 18v tools - $599 - Combo Kit - DC6KTGA

Got mine at HomeDepot, taxes were $35, shipping might have been cheaper, but I hate mail-order from non-reputable sources.

FWIW, the best shop Vac is that tiny RYOBI shop vac , like 2 gallon,, 4hp motor, like a BigBlock in a chevette.

I wonder if they will break the kit up I already have a DeWalt circular saw and jigsaw and dont really need a flashlight, I REALLY want a sawsall though, they look so **** handy. And a cordless drill would be handy around the shop too.

I just got the hammer drill and impact driver....YYYYEEEEHHHHAAAAAWWWW! 299.00 at H.D.

They sure are awsome, the newer ones have the XRP batteries, yellow top, two year no questions asked battery replacement. Not a bad deal if you use them every day.

diesel_kid,

A few months ago, Lowes had a "Contractor Special" and I bought this kit: http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/to...productID=8223

Paid $169, normally $349. They had this 2 pack kit for the price of just the drill.

The other piece I think I'd like are the Flexible Floodlight, DW919, good for working under the truck. Maybe the Circular Saw, DC390K, just a handy size.

Eric

that stupid flash light KICKS BUTT! i thought it was junk too,

the battery is heavy enough to hold it down, and the neck is stiff enough & long enough to put light where you need it.

i sat the base on the ground, and twisted the light under the car seat this weekend.

no more wife/kid talking on the phone and not holding the light right. it's great!

DeWalt is a great tool. I have 3 12v driver drills, and the 18v combo set. I love um!

I really use the flashlights! Rechargeable, VERY bright, and they last for weeks of causual use.

Kyle, I was skeptical at first but that baby kicks some serious........

I had to do a board up after a fire for an apartment complex and it drove three inch screws into 2x4's like you would expect an impact to. Because it's an impact you don't get that draw like a screw gun, not sure I'm describing real well but the power is great and I really like it! I purchased for the hammer drill so the impact was a bonus...

It's a beast to say the least.

Just a FYI,

Home Depot is offering 20% off all power tool combo packs thru Dec. 21.

Lowes is offering 20% off all power tools thru Dec. 21.

Some good deals out there, some offer free shipping also. Just thought someone, like SANTA, would like to know.

I went to Lowes today, they had the 4 tool kit for $399.20, Home Depot has the same kit for $399.00. I told the cashier and Lowes matched the price plus gave me an additional 10% off. I got the 4 tool kit for basically $360 + tax. Plus I get to send in and DeWalt will send me another tool free. I'm going for the radio, about the only thing I think I could use other than maybe the 18V Impact, just leary about how much work it could really do, plus I've already got a air compressor with an impact.

Good Luck.

We got one of those big kits too at work (I do electronics in the Coast Guard). Never knew how useful that flashlight is too until I used it. For a lot of the stuff I do I need two hands and holding a flashlight behind an equipment rack with one hand just won't do. The dewalt flash light is nice, with the 18 volts it is real bright and lasts a long time.

Call them and ask them to refund you the difference between what you paid and the new sale price. If they won't, just return it. Then get a new one at the lower price. Almost every store that is price competitive will give you the difference back if they lower the price in the 30 days or so after you buy something. That's a big difference and worth pursuing.

For the record, I got the Bosch 5 piece kit a year and a half ago (7 1/4" circular, impact drill, sawsall, flashlight and (bonus) jigsaw). Came with a carry bag, batteries and charger. What a great kit! Especially that cordless jigsaw... I've used that almost as much as the drill/screwdriver!
