Metal Gear Solid suck?!?!! Its hands down the greatest and best written, thought out espionage game series ever MADE.

Halo is fun no doubt but a little far fetched for this guy.

 

I'm just not into the sneaking around bit (besides, isn't the dudes name "solid snake"??? How gay is that?). I like running and gunning myself. Once again.... I don't play Halo for the single player (which sucks by the way to me) I play it for the multiplayer.

I have mad skills with the long-range shot, and after the Brute's heads have soaked up all the ammo - I melee my way in, grabbing weapons & ammo whilst wading through the carnage to the next available cover. You have to master the headshot, since there isn't enough ammo on the map to slay the masses with body shots.

The challenging part about playing alone is that there's no bullet-sponges around to save your bacon...

I tend to fight conservatively, but if I get PO'd at the Covenant the Berserker comes out and everyone around me dies (sorry Evan! )

 

I enjoy the campaign storyline. The multiplayer is great, don't get me wrong. But the story behind the campaign mode is pretty dang good. Halo 1 was great, 2 even better but left on a cliffhanger. Only thing that has kept me from playing 3 is that I don't have a Xbox 360 .

The Metal Gear series is decent too, but for me the storyline gets a bit confusing. The last one I played was MGS 2 .

 

Did you read the HALO novels, JR?

I read the first three (The Fall of Reach, The Flood, and First Strike). But I have not read any of the others yet.

 

Well, "Halo: Ghosts of Onyx" and "The Halo Graphic Novel" are pretty good for fleshing out some of the universe, but not as fulfilling as the first three books.

I can't wait for Halo Wars to come out next year - finally a real-time strategy game I can sink my teeth into!

Well, you're going to hate me after this one….

After all my talk and build-up for Halo 3, I took it back yesterday. I have played it for 2 weeks now and I hate it (yes I know I said earlier it was the best but once the new wore off the more I disliked it). The single player absolutely sucks (admittedly I didn’t buy it for the single player but that is how you get the cool armor) and I only ended up liking 1 of the multi-player maps. I have really tried to like it but I just can’t do it. The bad thing is, I owned with the online play. I've already made it to the rank of Captain and was working on Major but I just wasn’t having any fun. I hate the maps in Halo 3 so much that I found that every time a game came up I just wanted to quit. So I guess that is what I did.

This sucks because I have looked forward to this game coming out for a very, very, long time. What a total disappointment.

So I bought PGR4 and so far I am enjoying it much more than Halo. But I dig racing games and the PGR series is one of the best (I still like PGR2 the best but 4 is better than 3 so far). We got the game opening day, but I have only had a chance to play it about 1 hour so far. The first thing I noticed on the first level was field of view. Or should I say, the lack of field of view. I could only see a few feet in either direction. I felt like I was running through a tunnel.

Oh well. I still plan on finishing the game.

The Orange Box comes out today for the 360. I have enjoyed Half Life since the game came out on PC.

 

Well Britt it was fun playing Halo with you and i under stand why you took it back. i don't think i will buy PGR4 but i am getting Call Of Duty 4 so i hope to see you on there. I will be thinking about you when i am getting my butt kicked in halo.

"Killed by Darwin" i seen that way to many time in the few games i was on the other team.

Hey Eric,

I really wish I liked it more. I really tried and I am disappointed that it wasn't what I was hoping for. I just can't stand the maps on the multiplayer. I don't like any of them except for High Ground and Sandtrap.

Anyway... You can bet I'll get COD4. I hope it is better than Halo was. Everything that I've seen so far looks great. I really liked COD2 but never got around to buying COD3.

I can't believe you skipped COD3 !

It was way better than COD2, and the main reason I pre-ordered COD4... several more weeks and it'll be here!

 

I didn't really skip COD3. A buddy of mine had it and I played it. It was pretty good but for some reason I liked COD2 more. I am most certainly buying COD4 though. It looks great.
