OK - it's cool then.

Don't want the gamer noobs to figure it's cool to skip iterations...

Well there's a blast from the past.

The six year olds is one of the reasons that I quit playing. Add that to the fact that I couldn't stand the multiplayer maps with the exception of Sandtrap and Highground and it was pretty much over for me. We still play at the station every once in a while but not near as much as we used too.

Part of the reason might be because shooters are growing old to me. Don't get me wrong I still like them but I have been playing them since Goldeneye on the N64. That's over 10 years. I guess my taste have changed since now I'm playing Lord of The Rings Online. Seems to be a little more (make that a lot) mature players over there.

Have fun with it though. I know I did since Halo 1 came out. I have wasted many hours of my life with the series.

COD 4 is awesome. The only thing that really makes me mad is the spawn points. I can have a 15 kill streak and finally die and then spawn in front of the other teams helicopter or right in the middle of an air strike and get killed 5 or more times in a row. That SUCKS!!!!

True....nothing like playing shipment, and getting 60+ kills. But it does suck when you get killed 5 times or more in a row before you can move.......

Wondering the same thing, I do like Halo3 and agree about the little peckerwoods on there. Seems like every time I play its always slayer on vahilla though.

For sure. The single player is amazing then on Xbox live its even better! My favorite game this year easily and IMO it blows Halo 3 away.

Goldeneye and N64. That was the best. My friends and I wasted many hours on the multiplayer.

Yep. It's the reason I will never sell my N64. Goldeneye, Zelda Ocarina Of Time, and Mario 64 are the best games ever made.

Its pretty decent... Multiplayer lacks ALOT. Within a week or two of it being out i joined a server and half the people are already top-rank with all guns unlocked. Add that to the fact that the spawn points randomly moving are horrible, and that many maps are just too small for the number of players... its frustrating beyond belief!!

Ive been playing off and on for 2 weeks and im already up to rank 32 out of 55... im barely starting to turn more kills than deaths as i unlock the exxtra health, higher damage bullets, etc.

Game can definetly use a little bit of what we in the game world call "balance".

Graphics are pretty nice for a shooter though.

I havent tried single player yet, so no input there.

I stick to 20 players or less per server now.. any more than that and its just non stop helicopter, airstrike, and spawn dying for 5 minutes straight before you get to really move..

gee.. getting frustrating just writing about it...

A lot of what you wrote is my frustration too. Moving spawn points (though I understand the rational behind them) are a huge PITA and the main reason that I quit playing. I am extremely competitive by nature and I hate to be cheated. That is exactly what happens with moving spawn points. I mostly played team deathmatch, because you have to be a little more methodical with your moves and cover. One of the last times that I played I had a 25 kill streak going and finally died. From that point on I either spawned in front of a Helicopter, in the middle of an Air Strike, or directly in front of the enemy. I literally could not move. 13 deaths later and I finally got to move. One of the most frustrating times that I have ever had in a game and there was nothing I could do to control it.

As far as the balance goes, I never really had that much trouble with it. Deep impact, Stopping power, and Steady shot are all I ever use. I only use either the M16 with a red dot scope (larger maps) or a M4 with a red dot on vacant. The M16 is by far the best weapon in the game. At least it was for me.

I played all the way to Lvl 55, went into prestige mode and to lvl 55 again, and then to prestige mode one more time to lvl 39. My kill/death spread was 1.52 and my accuracy was almost 20% with well over 100,000 shots fired but I finally had enough and quit. Part of it is because of the problems mentioned but part of it is because I am finally burnt out on first person shooters and I’m looking for a more “mature” game to play. That is precisely why I started playing Lord of The Rings Online. Nerdish? Yes. But also much more laid back and mostly adults playing. Plus I dig the Lord of The Rings so it was a good fit.

I don’t want to deter anyone from buying COD4 because it is absolutely the best first person shooter out right now. It blows Halo 3 out of the water hands down. It has a few flaws that I personally couldn’t overcome (because of my competitiveness) and I couldn’t enjoy the game. If you can play it for fun and not worry about getting kills (unlike me) then this will be one of the best games that you will buy.
