6-Year-Old Scout Suspended for Bringing Knife-Fork-Spoon Utensil to School
6-Year-Old Scout Suspended for Bringing Knife-Fork-Spoon Utensil to School
Every student should be suspended because pencils can be a "dangerous instrument". It does not make sense that discretion can not be used in school conduct enforcement, especially for a 6 year old.
I got kicked out of my first High School for having a 4 inch knife with a locking blade in my pocket... needless to say it was the start of a long and uncommon High School experience for me that I dont think any kid should have to go through. This is the kind of thing that needs to be dealt with by a case by case basis. If it never came out of his pocket for a violent or unnecessary act then it does not matter that it was in his pocket. This is what our world is coming to where a scout cant even carry a multi-tool... whats next...

When I went to high school we drove to school with our hunting rifles in the rack. The vice principal who was a avid hunter would talk with us about gun smithing and caliber choices. Boy have times changed. Np common sense anymore just rules and laws.

Man have times changed! Same for me when I was in H.S. Guns in the gun racks and we all carried a buck knife on our belt. And there was a smoking 'lounge' outside the cafeteria for the kids who smoked. Not saying this was such a stellar idea, but at least the powers that be could keep their eyes on us instead of wondering which bathroom we were in sneaking smokes. And as I recall, none of us ever attacked each other with our knives either.

we had a shotgun and a rifle in the back windows and hunting knives in our pockets. Got a week off for huntin season and were not counted against us for missing school as long as our homework was completed and we were not failing.
