5th wheel hitch

I have a chance to buy a 5th wheel hitch. I dont know the name but it is a 24,000lb hitch. It sits on a set of rails in the bed and is removable. What is this worth?

I think a lot of them use the set of rails in the bed. I just checked out reese hitches because I am somewhat familiar with them and they are around $950 for a 24k rating. I'm sure there are other brands less expensive than that and I know there are some more expensive too. That's about the extent of my knowledge on them though. Hopefully one of the guys who does a lot of towing will happen by here.

For used maybe 250 if it is functional. Look at the parts list on the website and make sure you get all the frame mounts for the rails. Add the cost of new grade 8 nuts and bolts for the install.

Where are you and do you need a 24K hitch? If you are close to Florida, I have a like new 18K Hidden Hitch I will let loose for $200. No rails - - the rails stayed in the truck to mount the new air hitch on.

By the way, why didn't you ask this on the Hauling/Trailer section? Might get more response.
