Did you see that one part on the cricket page where it said "leave an open beer bottle on its side with several drops of beer left inside. The crickets will get in but have a hard time getting out". What a great reason to drink beer!!!

Indeed I did!
Mark, i'm enjoying a couple beers right now. You can use my empties to catch the little noise makers.
Evening everyone...Relaxin'!
Thanks, Matt.
I just got done with my cricket war... sprayed so much poison out there, I hope I don't die before the nights over. Yes, I used PPE... I was spreading some DE (used for pool filter media, but will clog crickets legs) around the house, had on a respirator, face shield, and elbow length rubber gloves... hope that was enough. I took a dip in the pool and washed off real good before I came in. Even opened the eyes up to wash them out. If the water don't get it, the chlorine will. If that don't, the alcohol blood content will.
Got my drip system working, figured out what the problem was. One of the lines were broke off in the only place I wanted it... We'll see... I've got it set for 10 minutes at 0600... we'll see if it comes on in the am. Only got two plants I want watered...
Ok, finishing off this beer, gonna hit the rack. Dang (insert expletive here) CRICKETS!!!

Been trying to find something that goes with crickets and POST. Haven’t found it. My dear old Mom in CA wears shoes on her feet and carries two in her hands because she hates crickets so much. They invade her home starting in Feb through June. She even knows the names of the parasites (like the Horsehair worm) that crickets carry.
MADHAT: The "Tell tale heart" by Edgar Allen Poe isn’t a story about crickets but does mention at least one and helps illustrate the madness that they (and other demons) can inflict
.
We don’t have crickets in Alaska but I fear I shall dream about them anyway---snorrrrre…me sleeping
"Yes, I had tried to comfort myself with these non-cricket suppositions: but I found all in vain. All in vain; because Crickets, in approaching me had stalked with their black shadow before me, and enveloped me. And it was the mournful influence of the unperceived shadow that caused me to feel --although I neither saw nor heard --to feel the presence of the mighty Cricket within the room".
Thanks madhat, I am not going back to sleep tonight!!

*ahem*
"Be that word our sign of parting, bug or fiend!" I shrieked, upstarting--
"Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore!
Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my loneliness unbroken! -- quit the bust above my door!
Take thy wing from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!"
Chirp the cricket, "Hat can't snore!."
Cool.

Mornin. You guys are a riot.
No crickets last night. Not a peep. I did find one of their training camps underneath a metal bookcase I had outside... lifted it up, musta had 300 little baby crickets under there. Fixed that problem...
Hey, Bark... in tale tell heart, didn't he kill the guy? I didn't do anything to these cricket!!!
