You heard the story "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade". Is there any place close by to fish. Fish love crickets, you love fish. Might help put groceries in the freezer or you could just catch and sell them. The cricket and spider traps Cincy mentioned are available at Ace Hardware. http://www.acehardware.com/mystore/storeLocator.jsp Chickens might be a nice addition to the hat household and they love crickets. Fresh eggs in the summer and fried chicken in the winter.

hey all, for T-rad ,up here our farm owns the land that gose over the back side of the hill right to about 4/5ths down the local ski slope, tthey set off the fireworks at the bottem of the slope so this IS THE BEST SEAT in town, so we got all of the youth group trotted though the back 40 down though the woods only to find my cousen standing with her posse [really, her kids and their friends] and THEN i get told that the cops are on 4wheelers with spotlights , and thet she just watched them bust the neighbors sitting on the top of the slope ,not sure if they were on the farms land or not ,anyways the cops walked'em down into town ,somebody had to go pick'em up
so my cousen decided to go back to her house and watch the big one's over the tree line, at this piont i was'nt thrilled shall we say [i cant say that the cops were'nt trying to keep people safe, just thet they locked down our seats ] so anyways two -three years ago we had logged right above the slope so we simply hung a left onto another logging road and parked'em , i was told the view was decent , i don't know i was to busy checki'n for cops
so there you have it my 4th of july
MATT!
At least the power plant has A/C!
So if it was YOUR land, why would you be scared of the cops? You New Englanders are a weird bunch!
Sorry your day stunk Mark. Watch those crickets, they bite!

I was going to post something along the same line. My Hero has a worthy foe and his name is Jiminy.Sounds like as good a way to spend the 4th as any.
Took me awhile to figure out where you got that from. I like it!
Ah, it did not stink, just hectic. Had to get on to two of my Sgt's, and had one get upset today. The kid that got upset is a great one, so I'm trying to help him out. Kinda feel bad that he is so stressed out, but he's a great Marine, so we're continuing to push forward.
I did not know that crickets bite, but I'm not scared...
I was thinking about a truce. They could cricket during the day, and I could sleep at night. I'll be more than happy to bribe them with beer, or whatever they want. I'll continue to offer them poison until they shut the heck up.
Ok, had a beer or four, working in the back yard... cleaned up the pool, changed a hose by myself (wish you guys could have seen that, there was water everywhere...) bout to get some rocks from my neighbor if he texts me back in the next few minutes...
