Re:454,460 mpg

I have a 88 ford f-250 with a 460 and on a good day it will get 12 miles to the gallon, Most of the time it gets around 10. But if your worried about gas mileage the 460 ain't the one to have. Also mine is a 5 speed standard and 4x4.

Re:454,460 mpg

My mothers 1994 Chevy Suburban 3/4 ton 2x4 with the 454 gets about 11 to 12 mpg (With my mom driving. Yes, she is the typical "little old lady" that never quit makes it to the posted speed limit) :

My nieghbor dirves a 97 Ford 1 ton crew cab with the 460. Unloaded (He has a cab-over camper) he gets about 10mpg.
Loaded with just the camper he gets 8 mpg.
The worst he got was 6 mpg with camper, enclosed trailer and head winds. [undecided]

Rich

Re:454,460 mpg

The Wife's rig has a EFI 460. It gets around 12 mpg on average. If I drive it, it gets less. ;D

Re:454,460 mpg

I was lucky to get 10 in my '88 F350 CC dooley on a good day. But, I didn't have the OD transmission in it either. Stuck in rush hour traffic pulling the boat, the truck only got a little better mileage than I did on the boat.

Re:454,460 mpg

I just traded a 95 K2500 4x4 with a 454 and got around 7-8 mpg. It was an auto. It was even worse when towing. I traded for my Dodge and haven't looked back.
Re:454,460 mpg

My old 97 F-350 never got any better than 11.5 empty. Average MPG's in town driving 8-10 :'( . It got 6-8 MPG with the camper driving with a light foot. I've been driving Dodges ever since getting rid of that .

Re:454,460 mpg

Had a '77 LTD with a 460/C6 that got 6 city and 9 highway. It would pass anything but a gas station.
