1997 Chevy Cavalier problem...

Guys,

Being that this is a diesel forum, and many of you all also have secondary vehicles, I was lookin at a co workers 1997 CHevy cavalier, 2.2 four bang, and 71 thousand miles on it. It seems to me that the coolant light comes on, However the little resivoir is full of dex cool, at least to where it should be, all the hoses seem to be ok, EXCEPT one of the return hoses doesnt have any pressure on it, its the hose that connects the the little Y thingy and the base of the radiator, I couldnt find leaks, i added coolant to it, i pulled apart many hoses to look at it today, and to no avail, i found nothing that i could do, do any of you guys know what can be wrong? IS it possible the little icon just got stuck? or the sensor is bad? Just wantin to know, i was stumped, this thing is harder to work on than my truck is......

The low coolant light sensors seem to go bad on these late model GM cars a lot. IIRC the sensor is in one of the radiator tanks.

I'd stay away from that car if you can , i bought a sunfire , and i totally wish i had not , they are cheap cheap cheap cars , and not just in price. They are terrable for road noise inside , and making other little unnerving noises ,I know it seems old manish , but go with something a little farther up the scale. mom got a malibu with the 2.8L it is twice the car a sunfire/cavalier will ever be imo. Only plus side on a cav/sunfire , junkyards are LOADED with the things , so parts are not too awful hard to get ahold of.
