is that blue I am seeing from inside the porcelain? i take it thats not really a problem and the delectric grease just helps hold the spark in even more?

the grease is a electrical barrier. It prevents electrical "leaks" from the porcelain to the metal part of the plug. In a perfect world, the porcelain is a great insulator. However, oils from your hands, dirt etc. defeat the porcelain and give the electric a path to follow.

Just as a precaution, make sure all the wires are fully seated-If the metal part of the wire does not "click", arcing can occur within the boot
