I always thought the Mega Cabs were for the 3/4 ton and up trucks. Saw a nice silver one today that was badged 1500 but had 8 lug rims on it. seemed kind of strange.

Any information?

 

They made the 1500 megas for a few years. Its labeled 1500 buts is almost a 2500. Like you said it gets a straight front axle and 8 lug wheels. Kinda like the "heavy halfs" of old.

I just picked up a 06 Mega cab with a Hemi. Its got 8 bolt wheels and rides on a 3/4 chassis. Nice truck, although the A/C is a POS...

 

My wife has an 08 hemi mega. It's a 3/4 ton, no doubt. Love the interior room, the mileage straight sucks.
