Never heard of it, but my guess is its gonna be a waste of time, just like the chevy 1500 "HD"

It is just a 2500 with 1500 badges. i think it has a lower carrying capicity though. It has to do with the psychological reason of people not wanting a 2500.

If I recall correctly, the Mega Cab 1500's are build on the 2500 chassis. The only difference is in the lighter spring packs they put on it. I would guess this is more for a cost saving reason then for anything else, though its a benefit since the truck is so large and heavy in its stock, unloaded form. It also gives DC some room to play in terms of GVW, so that you can actually put something heavier than just grocerys in it.

Those more in the know will chime in eventually.

Hi, I have 1500 MegaCab. It is built on 2500 chasis. The only diofferences that I could find so far between 1500 and 2500 Megacab with Hemi are:
Front springs, heavier on 2500, badges , and $ 2200 price diff.
That's why I bought 1500, since diesel was not an option for me. In Mexico they sell Megacabs, and some of them do not have badges, and theer was a guy trying to find out what he got. My MGVR is 8510, on 2500 it is about 8800.

And yes, marketing and psychology, people do not want 3/4 ton but want megacab, get 1500 I am the other way, wanted 3/4 ton but did not want to pay the extra. Dodge answered my questions. There are no Megacabs on regular 5 lug 1500 chasis.
