And less than 5% of people probably have a high enough credit score to qualify for interest free loans . That's real security for the government . Most buyers have upside down loans when they drive off the lot . What happens when they default ? The only security on an interest free loan is a car worth much less than is owed on it . Real smart move on the Treasury's part there .
