Wow, I go away for a week and everyone thinks they can just slack off! It's sad when it's the janitor that hasta keep things together!

Spent the last week at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg Maryland. Ended up being asked to become an instructor for the class I was attending. I kinda figured that was quite an honor... or maybe they just don't really know me yet!

Hopin' FiverBob finds his way down here this week. Just so long as he keeps his thongs to himself we should get along fine!

Morning all. Don't have time lately to do many posts but do occasionally do a quick scan to see what is happening on this site.
Heading for church in few minutes and then from church heading north to Laredo for a quick shopping trip and some business. Took a look at the weather for that area and am NOT looking forward to staying there with those cooking temperatures! Sure makes me appreciate my part of Paradise a bit more. Probably will not go over 80 today. Should be back on Wednesday.
Not taking my truck for a change but have to drive a 15 passenger Ford van. It's going to feel strange buying gas instead of diesel.

 

Thanks for starting the WATER COOLER thead before those squids could get in here and hose it up again.

Heat and humidity still hangin' on in the swamp.
Chance of rain tomorrow and Tuesday (Figures, I took Mon & Tues off)
and it looks as if there's a bunch o wet stuff preping to head up the coast.

"To Do" list for the Rental house almost complete (again)

Hope today will be a restful one.

Doing my work thing,,, I'm not off till Tue & Wed. At least it's quiet around here on the weekends without the "I'm-In-Charge" nutcases running around trying to be somebody.
Start the 4x12 shift on Thurs and after 7 of those,,, I'll be heading down to Commerce, GA for the Diesel drags. Ed, ya ought to take a few days off and come on down with me, Wifey is staying home for this one, but I'm still taking the 5er. I'll go down there on the 7th, drags are Fri and Sat, then I'll head back home Sun to spend the rest of the following week on vacation!

I see Gucko, (or whatever his name is), is tryin' to take credit for makin' coffee again... DON'T BELIEVE HIM!

Oh, and while I was rootin' around, uh, I mean CLEANING Lary's office, I found out the REAL story about those little green squares, (or red, whichever the case may be), on all our posts... performance reviews! That's what Lary is gonna base our pay raises on; the more green squares ya got, the better your raise. I think Begle's gonna end up in trouble!

Cloudy and cool here this AM, threatening rain. We need it, but it'll sure mess up my plans for the day. Guess I'll just hafta hang around the break room and make sure there's plenty of

Oh, and pullin' the fire alarm wasn't very nice either!

I guess next time, I'll set a trash can on fire, then pull the alarm... maybe the coffee will get used to put it out... the stuff does remind me of halon.

 

We need rules here. Coffee must be done brewin by 0600. Shovelhead, better put out a memo.

Was supposed to have been out of here Saturday but the pointy haired boss felt that taking the GSA truck and trailer was too expensive and time consuming. Having a 2000 lb load wasn't even taken into consideration. Therefore, in the infinite wisdom that our congress bestows upon ALL of our officers, I am flying out on a military DC-9 and flying back commercial. Wonder how PO'ed the flight crew is gonna be when they find out the 2000 lbs + 28 duffle bags and two passengers is now one guy with 400 lbs and a flight bag? Seems the boss "forgot" to inform OSA of cargo changes.
Don't know what kind of connectivity I'll have "down yonder". Probably a 3 baud smoke signal or heliograph.
