No matter how many people we come into contact with over the course of the year, (this year was 98,902), there are still a ton of people who will never get our message of fire safety. Granted, this family wasn't exactly within our area of travels, but it still saddens me to think of how preventable this tragedy was with just a tiny bit of fore-thought and common sense. Fireplace ashes do not belong inside a home unless they're still in the fireplace. And we won't know for sure until later today, but it looks like there were no working smoke alarms... a 1.7 million dollar home and no $9.99 smoke alarm.

He's still in Lansing, busy as heck tho due to short-handedness.

 

You are my man. Just got out of the attic putting everything away for another year. Cleaned up all the sparkly stuff all over the family room furniture, the carpet, the tables, the accessories, plus cleaned up all the sparkly stuff from the lanai (our tree is/was in the lanai). That stuff was everywhere. Fun time, but it is all away and done. Now get ready for NY.

Hi all fly by ...wasnt much marry this year ....oh well found who are my friends though .......whats cookin?

 

Look at the bright side. It took me almost 40 years to learn who my real friends are and I'm still discovering things I didn't know. You're still young!

 

weellll have you ever had to be escoted from a vets office by a peace officer becouse you found that the roommates cats had worms ..let her know they had worms waited two hours got no response took them to the vets said roommates sister call you asking where are the cats you tell her ,she shows up at the vets,chews you out takes the cats dumps you with a $120 vet bill then waits by your car to kick your hiny? that was my gf firday night ALSO said roommate kicks you out becouse you have a misunderstanding with her mother? this has meout of my gourd ...when this happened i was 35 miles away with a buddy of mine selling some IH field plows..... yes when i got called by her the beast was fired and the soot was cleaned out....we took my gf to his perants house ...calmed her down went back to the apt loaded his dodge and mine with all her stuff and got her out .....we'v been staying with his perants since then trying to get where we can stand straight

 

No, can't say as I've ever been there... and I've been in a LOT of situations!

 

yes i have to keep myself from going near guns now....what really chaps me is i consided the roommate and her family friends of mine....

 

Find a way to deal with this stuff NOW while you're relatively young because it's gonna go on throughout your life and you're going to be continually disappointed with the way people react to different situations and circumstances. Don't expect too much from people in general, even you're friends. I don't have any real close friends except those I have known in my adult life for at least 10 years or more. It is absolutely amazing what people will do to you to make themselves feel better, get themselves ahead, make them look good, etc., etc. Most of the people I know, I consider to be 'acquaintances'. There are only 3 or 4 I can truly consider 'close friends', and this is how I separate them out; Would they be willing to die for me? Would I be willing to die for them? If the answer is 'yes' to both questions, then they are friends. Everyone else is an acquaintance.

 

i can see that ...thats how my buddy and his family is..theyll do anything for you.....as to dealinng with the current pains ..im done if they want to act like this then i dont need to be anywhere near then kinda like my family oh well i will say this ..this weekend there are plans for a small "party" in honer of a commitment thats being acted apon if someone feels like sending me a text i can keep all you scallywags and roughins in the loop per saywell im headin out im not gonna be around much with everything thats in the fire so til then try not to get arerested
