Coffee's quite tasty.....too bad someone ate the dang donuts . 1 more 12 hr shift tonight and I'm done for 4 days . Gettin antsy to find out what went awry with my tranny....hoping to find something out tomorrow morning.

Anyone ever see those posters about why you shouldn't wear jewelry when working....ya know, those shop safety type posters??? I've seen them way too long to know better.....darn near lost a finger the other day after my trans was removed....college ring got caught on one the bolts holding the casters on the trans jack while my helper was pulling it out from under the truck.......quite scary seeing your ring slicing into the meat of your finger......got real lucky on that one. No more rings for me while working .

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.....be safe....yep, there it was, your morning shop safety lesson.

I hate rings on my hand. Messes up my grip. (No really, a ring scratches up the front grip strap on my .45)

I'm left footed. Does that mean I always start out on the wrong foot?
I don't wear rings cause I work around moving machinery and electricity. It messes up my aim too.

Do we need to start having a monthly DTR safety meeting?
maybe put a stack of stop cards out and make people fill them out?

Rings (and any jewelery) are no-nos.
Proper PPE includes steel toed safety shoes, hardhat, safety glasses (ansi Z-87 or Z-87+), long sleeve fire resistant coveralls no synthetic layers under your coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs. If your on the rig floor or in the moon pool, dont forget your H2S monitor.

those are the basics
depending on location, you might wanna go with both.

are your pants and shirt marked with hi-vis stripes? if not, you need to get the vest too...

When I was offshore Egypt a couple years ago, everyone on the rig floor had to add tyvex suits and face shields to their PPE list.
