Guten Abend mein fruends... (well, close enough),

Started our holiday stand-down today ... I told my young sailor "You only have to work half days for a while .... 7am to 7pm . He didn't get it, so maybe I will get some work out of him !!

I skipped lunch today to get all caught up on the last minute stuff ... and then went grocery shopping. Boy was THAT was a mistake. Never, never, ever go looking for grub when you are hungry ... now I am broke again. I sure am gonna be eatin good though.

Picked up some Kona coffee for the morning ... seeing as how Mexstan unplugged the breakroom perculator !! Sorry to hear about your Mother-in-law Stan. My condolences to your wife.

Cheers,
PISTOL

Thanks guys for the condolances. My wife is still in Mexico City tying up the loose ends - like getting someone to take care of her 95 year old father etc. It was a rough ride for a while, but it is over now. My wife is comforted knowing that her mother died as a Christian, so knows with absolute certainty that she will see her again. My mother and now my wifes mother used to ask me to pray that they would die quickly to end the painful existence they led. In their later years both of them no longer had any quality of life. How does one pray for a loved one to die? Somehow that just does not seem right.
Changing the subject. As predicted, it is another glorious day here in Paradise and I am in my shorts and flip flops. Unfortunately I have desk work to do, so am stuck in front of the computer for a few hours.

INDEED, A Time of Comfort

Always will be your parents, with us or beyond. i smile knowing I have mine 'with' me everyday, especially when I think of how much I ended up being like one or the other at a given circumstance....
You LIVE in Paradise; peace has to come swiftly! Still sounds outrageous the city traffic with the bumper to bumper stuff.......

A Tip of the hat of Courtesy to you ! I too could wear shorts for the warm weather up here in NY.. it has to have come from Paradise!

flip flops wouldn't kick the squirrels well enough though, black walnut minefield here.....

Called the Water Cooler !! aka HEY! What Are You Up To Today??!!

Please do not take it out on the JANITOR/CHAIKWA!!!
Scott is a real person with very bushy hair, laser green eyes when ticked off,
and TOP QUALITY in his work! Who loves coffee. FOLGER's I believe....
FIVERBOB is a QT who does the right thing by the pool, with a very nice almond toffee flavor coffee in a real man's mug. Okay?? everyone suitably informed? GOOD!! Let's hear what you are up to!!!!!

Son home from college, VW fixed three times by dealer who FINALLY got it right (catylitic converter failure), seems weird to put up outdoor decorations with NO SNOW!! Put off paperwork for tonight (not due till Tuesday) Hubby working double shift, have to meet with neighbor about
some one tying firecrackers to horse's tails after a running dog was shot a week ago.... we have no law enforcement here; supposedly no Hatfield's and McCoy's either BUT..........can't we all just get a longgggggg

oh, THAT would put MADHAT outta a job.....

Stan, first off, let me offer my sincerest condolences to you and your wife. Truly a shame, yet a blessing at the same time.

Well, it's no diff'rent than listenin' to you guys give us a daily weather report from 'paradise'! Prob'ly if you moved back to a climate that was LESS than paradise, you'd remember the importance of coffee! Besides, it's the one thing I can contribute to around here. (Lord knows I ain't much good at wrench bendin'!)

Fightin' off some kinda crud today. Chest all filled up and hackin' up 'stuff'.

And just to stay 'on-topic', the weather turned cold and clousy here, with a nasty northeast wind. Downright , I want the 50's and 60's back for temps!

The afternoon is ready and it's NOT instant!

chaikwa.

Stan, my condolences.

Big day today. Had to travel to Danville Ky for a job, took longer to get there than do it. Made a round robin of it and then went to Frankfort, then back to Louisville, then finally home. 320 miles, little nap, big supper, and finally I'm at REAL job till 0600.

(EDIT) REAL job entails lots of glorified babysitting of M-1 tanks and such, to don't feel sorry for me. Just pass the coffee please.

It's supposed to be nice tommorrow. Come on over and we'll saddle up some horse critters.

Ed

I have no worries about job security with the current world events. I'll be worried when world peace breaks out.

Alright guys and gals, it's been a good week but I've got to go to bed now. I'm leaving for Ohio to see family for Christmas so I'll chat with you in about a week or so. Merry Christmas to all of you! I hope you all receive the blessing of good health and have your family near for the Holidays. Drive safe and remember our brave members of our armed services who cannot be with their family. Rick
